Format

Forty -minute classes meet once a week for six weeks and include 30 minutes of instruction and 10 minutes of supervised practice and/or supervised skating games.

First Day Procedure

Skaters should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their schedules start time, allowing sufficient time for preparation. The assignment of students to specific classes and/or instructors will be made on the ice after an initial evaluation.

Equipment

Single blade hockey or figure skates are required. Laces are preferred over velcro or buckles. Helmets are strongly recommended.

Clothing

Comfortable, flexible and warm clothing, including gloves/mittens are recommended for all skaters. Beginning skaters should wear loose fitting pants for learning to safely fall and stand back up.

Most instructors on staff offer private instruction. Please consult the instructor of your choice.
